To moblilize support from mountaineers, trekkers, alpine clubs, adventure tour operators and the Himalayan region governments, to protect the Himalayan environment, its flora and fauna and natural resources as well as protect the customs and interests of the local people.

To evolve a code of conduct and ethics to be followed by all visitors to Himalayan region, as part of a continuing effort to maintain and sustain the well being of the Himalayan region.

To spread awareness worldwide through conferences and publications

To encourage cleaning up programmes and evolve healthy environmental practices in areas of the Himalayas which are severely polluted. The Trust may help raise funds and provide support for these projects and maintain supportive role in cooperation with local authorities.

To establish, run, maintain, support and/ or to grant aid or / or financial assistance to an institution, school / college libraries, adventure tour organisation and other similar institutions generally engaged in the Himalayan adventures and conservation.

To educate and supervise all visitors to the Himalayas about various aspects of Himalayan conservation. To take all possible steps to ensure that no over-crowding of certain trails occurs and achieve a fair spread of trekkers all over the Himalayas.

To provide guidance to Himalayan Countries, tour operators, trekkers, adventure tourists, airlines and people in general about the conservation of the natural resources and preventing pollution in the Himalayas.

To organise an annual “Himalayan Mountaineering and Tourism Meet” in different Himalayan Countries with main focus on achieving the objectives of the Trust.

To publish and sell / distribute the books, magazines and brochures about various aspects of the Himalayan Tourism, adventure, and conservation of natural resources and preventing pollution. To give away annually Sir Edmund Hillary Himalayan Environment Award to the most deserving individual or an organisation, in the field of Himalayan environment.

To promote and encourage acts of training in the field of adventure and Himalayan conservation. To do all other acts, deeds and things as may be conclucive to the attainment and furtherance of any or all of the above objects and purposes of the Trust and/ or in any way similar to them or incidental thereto for the benefit of the public in general.

To spread awareness about all aspects of Himalayan environment through conferences, literature and Ecowalls in educational institutions.
